Stoicism has this core belief that in life you should learn to differentiate between those things that you can control, and those things that you can’t control. It is useless to worry about things that you cannot control and if you do worry about something like that, you will never be happy.

Many famous stoic philosofers are repeating this same notion and when you think about it, it make sense to know what you can and what you cannot control. If you have a person you are interested in, but who isn’t interested back, that’s out of your control really. You could try and improve yourself, but when they are still not interested even after that, it’s out of your hands and there’s no point in worrying. Move on. It’s simple as that. So try and think about that for a while and see how you can apply it to your life.
